DeAnn Daley Holcomb
DeAnn Daley Holcomb is an award-winning television and newspaper journalist, published author and full-time writer.
Holcomb, a native of Fort Worth, TX, graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.
Holcomb began her career as a reporter at the ABC Affiliate television station KAMC-TV in Lubbock, TX. Holcomb moved to
Midland-Odessa, TX, where she worked at the ABC affiliate television station KMID-TV, as a television news reporter,
anchor and later became News director.
As her family transferred to Dallas, TX, Holcomb joined the staff of Scripps Community Newspapers (now known as Star
Community Newspapers) as a staff reporter for the Lewisville Leader and Plano Star Courier. Holcomb later became the
associate editor for Dallas’ Health and Fitness Sports magazine. Holcomb continues her work today as a full-time writer
for local and national magazines, as a published author, and she enjoys her work at the senior high school, as a substitute
teacher for the Plano Independent School District.
The Texas Associated Press recognized her skills as a television news reporter, producer, and anchor with Best
Feature and Best Documentary honors. The Texas Associated Press Managing Editors recognized her skills in journalism
excellence as a newspaper reporter in the features category for her weekly parenting series. In 2005, the Southwest
Writer’s Association honored Holcomb in the short story fiction competition and in 2009 Holcomb was honored in the novel
fiction competition by the Houston Writer’s Guild.
Family Secrets is her first work of fiction romance published by P3 Press, an affiliate of Brown Books Publishing of
Dallas. Set in Pleasant Valley, TX, Family Secrets chronicles the heartbreaking, humorous and romantic journey of three
generations of women. Jennalee is shattered to learn her true identity and finds comfort in the arms of the strong and
handsome Lance Forrester. Emma Cherie finds the courage to leave her abusive husband and takes the chance on finding
happiness with her true love. The lovely and captivating Charlene, must learn to relinquish control and let destiny takes its
course.
Holcomb was a part of the Texas Book Festival in Austin, TX, enjoying her time doing a book signing event for Family
Secrets in the Writer’s League of Texas booth and she has appeared at the North Texas and West Texas Book Festivals
along with several book signing events and speaking engagements across the state.
Holcomb lives in Plano, TX, with her husband Greg, and her son, Spencer. When Holcomb wasn’t busy writing on her
laptop computer, you could find her on the sidelines of Spencer’s football or baseball games, cheering the teams on to
victory. Now, with Spencer off to college, Holcomb is already hard at work on her second novel, Beyond the Shadows, a
